A fundamentalist preacher was taking a walk one day and happened upon a young girl who was playing with something in a cardboard box. When he got closer he could see that in the box was a litter of new-born kittens.
"What kind of kittens are those?" asked the preacher.
"Why, they're Christian kittens," replied the little girl.
The preacher walked on, pleased to see that the little girl had Jesus foremost in her thoughts.
A few days latter the preacher saw the little girl again. "And how are your little Christian kittens doing today?" asked the man of God.
"Oh, they aren't Christian kittens, they're Pagan kittens," replied the girl
"But...but... I thought you said last week that they were Christian kittens," sputtered the flabbergasted preacher.
When: This Sunday, June 26th, at 3pm, in the parking lot. Ritual will start promptly at 3:30 (with or without you, so if you show up late, casually and quietly join our circle with as little disruption as possible, thanks).
Where: We will be meeting at Ken Thompson Park (located near Mote Marine Institute) in Sarasota. This will be a public ritual, although it will be held in a somewhat isolated location within the park.
DIRECTIONS: Take US 41 to John Ringling Blvd. This will take you over a bridge and into St. Armand's Circle. Go a quarter of the ways aound the circle to John Ringling Parkway (not blvd.) and take this road off the circle. Follow John Ringling Parkway to Ken Thompson Parkway and turn right. Look for signs that read "Ken Thompson Park" or "Mote Marine". Follow this road to the parking lot at the far end. We will be parked there. After 3:30pm however, we will be somewhere in the park, probably next to the water.
Here is the link to yahoo maps: Yahoo! Yellow Pages - Mote Marine Aquarium-Events
What: (to bring): The ritual will be a fairy theme for Midsummer, so if you have any fairy garb or items of the fey you wish to have charged with fairy energy, please bring them. Also, please bring an offering for the fairies. It can be anything you consider beautiful or sweet. (They like candy, cream (or anything creamy), rice pudding, fruit, flowers, anything that smells pretty or sweet, crystals, anything sparkly, poems, music, stories, art, etc.) OH... and they particularly like Jasmine, Lavender, honey, and jingly bells/windchimes/etc.
DO NOT bring anything made of iron or the herb called "Broom". Fairies are allergic to both.
We will be going out to eat afterwards at someplace reasonably inexpensive, and everyone is welcome to join us, even if just to socialize and not eat/drink.

some of you may have seen the car around town that has the donnie darko bunny on the hood, the red car and the blue trunk, i love road head stickers and naked chicks and stuff. that is my car. it runs mostly, has new front wheels, new fron roders and break pads, new vacume hoses, new battery, new alternator that costed $150 for some reason, custom interior (my boyfriend works on cars and is doing the interior, most of it's done). but it is not working for somereason, i think it is the connectors for the battery it cost like $3 to fix. the thing is i can not get the hood open to replace them. but anywho! if anyone is good with cars, or needs some parts for a 91 ford tempo(less than 100,000 miles i was told when i bpught the car, it was a work car on the weekends for a friend of a friend and has been alright for me), or jsut wants some pretty decent transportation, pretty interesting car to look at too. but if you want it, i will sell it to you for $300 i bought it for $750, it just needs the hood opened, i dunno, if any young kid out there wants some car for cheap it's yours $300. if not i am going to sell the new parts and junk it becuase rich grandpappy is helping me buy a new car. hit me up if you areinterested.
BB everyone. Sorry if this is off topic, but since the community is a bit dead lately, I didn't think it could hurt lol. I have to get rid of my puppy and wanted to know if anyone here was interested. She's was born in December, so that makes her about 8 months old. She's a black lab/Akita mix, named Belle. But she doesn't really know her name, which is only because I personally have a bad habit of calling all dogs "puppy" no matter how old or their real name lol. She's house broken, trained with a leash and crate trained. She's also been trained to eat in her crate, so when she sees food, she will go to her cage. She loves everyone and everything. She's a very playful dog. She gets along great with other dogs, cats, kids, and old people. She truly just loves everyone. She really is a great dog and I hate to have to get rid of her, but the new apartment won't allow pets. If I can't find anyone on here who would like her, I will have to take her to the pound. And I would hate to have to do that. So again, if anyone is interested or knows someone who is, she's a great dog. Just gimme a call on the cell 234-6677, and ask for Alli. I'm not asking anything for her, just a good home. *That means free ;-) * I'm hoping to get calls soon, because I have very little time to make arrangements. I need to get rid of her by as early as possible, hopefully this weekend. I work from 8:30 to 5 (Mon through Thurs), but go ahead and leave a message. I can either go on a break if I have a chance or call you back after I get out of work. Thanks everyone and hope to hear from someone soon :-) ~Alli

I just wanted to say this I red this in the rules part...
"I'm sorry, but no one under the age of 18 for what I see as obvious reasons... I don't need or want parents of minors on my back for turning their kid into a "baby sacrificing devil worshipper"... hey, it happens.... some people just don't understand. If you do happen to join though, it is of your own will and I accept no responsibility."
Well I want to let you know first, yes im under 18 but my mother is pagan so it's HIGHLY doubtfull she would complain Just letting the owner know in case it would be worried about in the future.<333

Hello, ima newbie. I've just started getting in2 wicca again. i've always been very interested in it, and it just makes so much sense to me. i focus mostly on the faery branch of wicca. i love the faeries and their magick. i only have one problem, and i kno it's something you need to work on alot for wicca...and that's meditating. i just can't seem to stay focused on it. my mind is a crazy place, it's not good at staying calm and collected for long. can i get any advise on how to get better?
Well, since y'all started the trend... :-) I'm here and I'm just sitting back enjoying myself. Not much else to say lol. Found this looking up Sarasota as an Interest, more or less kidding myself looking for anything about Sarasota lol. Anyway, was suprised when I found this, so I thought I would join. I'm also a newer member to the SRQ Wiccan's yahoo group. But that's about it for now. :-) So there.... you have a new post... happy? :-D ~A
Alright, i'm haveing trouble finding places good for community advertisement. I'd do it in another Sarasota communities and even less good ones. I think there is a page on live journal somewhere dedicated to promoting communities, but I can't find it. Any ideas?
